How to find and remix your competitors' ads

Pull live ads from a competitor's Meta Ad Library, pick the ones worth learning from, and rebuild them with your product, colors and copy.

The fastest way to a good ad is to start from one that already runs. Meta's Ad Library shows the live ads of any advertiser. Goose reads them, lets you pick the ones worth learning from, and rebuilds each one for your brand.

Step 1: Add the competitor

Paste a competitor's Meta Ad Library link. Goose builds a folder of their ads that you can browse, tag and remix, the same way you handle your own. Competitor ads are also discovered and organized for you from the Create page and your Brand Kit.

Step 2: Pick what to learn from

Look for layouts and angles, not copy to repeat. Useful questions:

  • What is the first thing the eye lands on?
  • What claim leads, and what proof sits under it?
  • Which formats show up again and again across a competitor's ads?

Tag the ones you like (for example comparison or offer-led) so you can filter them later.

Step 3: Remix into your brand

Choose a competitor ad as the starting point, pick the product to feature and add a prompt if you want a specific angle. Goose rebuilds the layout with your product, logo, colors and copy. A remixed competitor ad is restyled to your brand colors and fonts automatically, instead of copying the original look.

Start with one or two variants to check the direction, then generate a larger batch. If one ad misses, regenerate just that one.

From a coding agent

Run it from Claude Code, Codex or Cursor with the Goose Ads skill:

npx gooseworks install --all
npx gooseworks login
/goose-ads create ads for my brand <your-website>

The agent finds ads already running in your space and rebuilds a batch on-brand.

Check before you run

  • Do not upload ads you do not have the right to use. Uploads ask you to confirm the rights, and they stay private unless you share them.
  • Read the headline against your real offer.
  • Make sure no leftover text from the source ad remains. Goose checks for this, but look anyway.
